The Medifast shake contains a fine amount if calories per serving. With 110 calories a serving you can easily add other healthy ingredients to your shake. This way you are also keeping your calorie count low which will eventually help you lose weight.
The Medifast Shake also contains a good amount of protein for weight loss at 14g per serving. A great rule of thumb for a meal replacement/weight loss shake is to have 14g-20g of protein per shake serving, in order to help boost the metabolism in your body and lose weight. Protein also helps to keep you full and doesn’t have a lot of calories.
Even though the amount of protein is a good amount for weight loss, one of the types of protein, soy isolate, is a bad choice for dropping pounds and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, in our opinion.
The reason is that soy contains phytoestrogens which have an estrogenic effect on the body. Excess estrogen in the body can contribute to weight gain due to the formation of stubborn fat, which commonly is in the belly of men, and the hips and thighs of women.
